sleep wrinkles

You wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and see bed face or sleep wrinkles.  After washing your face and being up for awhile your circulation starts flowing and the sleep wrinkles disappear. But as you age these sleep lines are not so quick to go away. The skin loses it’s ability to bounce back due to a natural loss of elasticity. After years of sleeping with your face crushed to a pillow sleep wrinkles unfortunately become permanent.  Ready to say goodnight to sleep wrinkles?

The first step is to think about your sleeping position. Most of us tend to sleep on our sides, chest or back.  Side sleepers tend to form chest and cleavage wrinkles from that area being squeezed during the night’s sleep. Side sleepers also tend to form more wrinkles on the cheeks. Stomach sleepers have a tendency to get a furrowed brow from a night crushed into the pillow.

Though it is easier said than done you can retrain your sleeping position and sleep on your back.  It usually takes several weeks to become accustomed to sleeping in a new position but it is possible.  Take note that back sleeping can be problematic for some people because of the way it positions your tongue and throat.  Pregnant women should also avoid back sleeping.

But many of us don’t want to sleep in a different position and that is where a quality anti wrinkle pillow such as a feather pillow or a memory foam pillow can be very beneficial. Hard synthetic pillows that don’t bend with the sleeper can result in more sleep lines than a light pillow made of natural materials such as a feather pillow or an anti wrinkle pillow specifically designed to prevent sleep wrinkles. Feather pillows come in a range of prices. Find one that is antimicrobial. A high quality feather pillow will last for years, give you good sleep time and help prevent sleep wrinkles. A pillow designed to prevent sleep wrinkles will mold with your face instead of crushing your face, lines will be minimized and bed face is not so likely to happen.

The Ageless Sleep Pillow is one option. The pillow is a good buy at under $30.00, far less expensive than a feather pillow, and it is great at preventing sleep wrinkles and more. A short time ago a woman sent me an Ageless Sleep Pillow review where she said her skin was much clearer since she had started using it. This pillow contains a memory foam that adjusts to your face. So instead of your skin being crushed against the pillow which creates lines and clogs pores, the pillow gently cradles the face. You awake in the morning refreshed instead of with bed face. Breathing is also easier with the Ageless Sleep Pillow.

You will have more oxygen flowing which is great for the skin. And best of all you prevent lines from forming which over time become permanent.

Like the Ageless Sleep Pillow the Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow is made of memory foam. The material works with your bodies weight and temperature to mold to the shape of the face and neck. It is contoured which relieves pressure on the neck area and improves circulation. It allows more oxygen to flow which gives the skin vitality and beauty. It has an antimicrobial finish to combat mold and mildew and it is hypoallergenic. Because of the way the pillow molds to your face, you will avoid bed face wrinkles, clogged pores and awaken with smoother skin. This anti wrinkle pillow will help prevent the lines from forming which over time become permanent.

We highly recommend the Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam Pillow. It is less expensive then the Ageless Sleep Pillow and comes with free super saver shipping. When you consider what it can do for your complexion now and for the long term, it is a real bargain. As a side note both the Sleep Innovations and the Ageless Sleep Pillow will fit into a standard pillowcase.

Another method that can greatly help you say goodbye to sleep wrinkles is a satin or silk pillow case. By using this type of material your skin glides against the fabric and is much less likely to crease.  Satin and silk pillow cases are a bargain when you consider the sleep wrinkles they are saving your skin from. Simply covering any pillow you have with a satin or silk case will help prevent many sleep wrinkles from forming. A satin or silk case is one of the easiest, least expensive ways to say goodnight to sleep wrinkles. Combining the satin or silk pillowcase with an anti wrinkle pillow like the Sleep Innovations will help allow oxygen to circulate giving a smoother and clearer complexion.

If you think about it, the average person spends about 2400 hours a year sleeping. That time can really take a toll on your skin or it can enhance it. Taking a few simple steps now will help save your skin from looking older now and in the future.

If you already have sleep wrinkles, using a high quality wrinkle cream like one of those in our wrinkle treatment review section will help turn back the clock and get rid of them. To help prevent more sleep wrinkles and help turn back the clock on the ones you have, cover a memory foam pillow such as the Sleep Innovations Contour Memory Foam pillow with a satin or silk pillowcase. This is a very affordable way to not only prevent wrinkles and improve circulation but get a good night’s rest.

I’ve been sleeping on satin pillowcases for a few years now and I love them. My skin looks better and as an added bonus, so does my hair. My Mom always slept on satin and her skin was beautiful. I went to A Touch of Satin and bought mine. They are just gorgeous and feel soooo smooth on my face and neck. I like the idea of a contour pillow. I will give sleep innovations a look and see what they have. Definitely try satin and check out A Touch of Satin.
